What do these tests measure?
ISO-5 cleanroom
Airborne particle class of the filling environment. ISO 5 means at most 3,520 particles ≥0.5 µm per cubic metre.
cGMP
Good manufacturing practice: production follows documented, auditable, repeatable processes.
Heavy-metal test
Amount of metals such as lead, mercury, cadmium and arsenic in the product (usually by ICP-MS).
Endotoxin test
Level of endotoxin, a bacterial cell-wall residue, measured by the LAL test in EU/mg.
Sterility test
Whether viable microorganisms grow from the sample, tested by incubation in culture media.
